Integrations on Breakout

Use this to connect the third-party tools your workspace uses with Breakout

Integrations let Breakout read approved context, send approved updates, and run workflows across your connected systems.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have the following in place before you integrate a tool in Breakout:

  1. Permission to manage integrations in Breakout

  2. Permission to authorize the tool you want to connect

  3. Access to the correct provider workspace, account, org, or property

  4. Pop ups are enabled for the Breakout dashboard because OAuth connections usually open a provider approval window

Some integrations appear only when they are enabled for your workspace. If you do not see an integration card that you expect, contact your customer success manager.

Where to connect integrations

  1. Log into Breakout

  2. Click your name to navigate to Settings

  3. Click Integrations → name of the tool you want to connect

Note: Some user-level Google or mailbox connections may also appear as an in-product connection prompt when a workflow needs access.

How connection methods work

Breakout integrations use one of these connection methods:

Method

What you do

Common examples

OAuth sign-in

Sign in to the provider, choose the correct account or workspace, and approve the requested permissions.

Slack, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, Google products

API key or API token

Paste a provider-generated key into the secure Breakout form.

Smartlead, Instantly, G2, Sendoso

Client credentials

Enter a provider app's client ID, client secret, and token URL or instance URL.

Salesforce, Salesforce Sandbox, Marketo

Access-key credentials

Enter provider access-key details supplied by an admin.

Gong, when access-key mode is enabled

Verifying a connection

After you connect a tool, the card should show a connected state. For any tool that can change external data, test with a read-only or low-risk workflow first.

For example, list available records, campaigns, files, or properties before creating contacts, sending messages, enrolling leads, or uploading conversions.

Disconnecting a connection

Use Disconnect on an integration when you connect the wrong provider account, rotate credentials, change ownership, or remove access.

Disconnecting stops future Breakout access through that connection.

Important: Disconnecting does not delete provider data, undo records already created, or remove messages, sends, enrollments, or campaigns already created in the provider.

Troubleshooting common connection issues

Issue

What to check

Integration card is missing

Confirm that the integration is enabled for your workspace and that your user has permission to manage integrations

Approval window does not open

Allow popups for the Breakout dashboard and try again

Card still shows disconnected after approval

Refresh the Integrations page in Breakout. If it still shows disconnected, repeat the connection and confirm the provider approval completed

OAuth approval succeeds, but workflows fail

Check the connected provider user's object permissions, account access, field permissions, required fields, validation rules, and provider-side app approval

API-key connection succeeds, but operations fail

Confirm that the API key belongs to the correct provider workspace and has access to the required resources

Records, campaigns, files, or properties are missing

Confirm that the connected account can see those resources directly in the provider

Credential was rotated or revoked

Disconnect the integration and reconnect with the new credential
