G2

Connect G2 so Breakout can read G2 product metadata, buyer-intent signals, reviews, and competitive intelligence where your G2 plan allows API access.

Prerequisites

  • Ask a G2 administrator for an API token with access to the data products your workflows will use. G2 API access and endpoint availability can vary by plan.

  • If workflows need buyer-intent data for a specific product, confirm the product ID or slug used by your workspace configuration.

Permissions requested

G2 does not use OAuth scopes for this connection. Access is controlled by the API token, the G2 account, and the G2 data products available on your plan.

The token should be allowed to read product metadata, buyer-intent signals, reviews, and category or feature data used by workflows.

Connect G2

  1. Click your name to navigate to Settings

  2. Click Integrations and then toggle the switch on in the G2 card.

  3. Paste the G2 API Token into the secure form.

  4. Submit the form.

Return to Breakout and wait for the G2 integration to show as Connected. It may take a few minutes for the status to update on the Integrations page.

  • If the G2 approval window closes but the integration still doesn't show as connected, refresh the Integrations page.

  • If G2 still appears as Disconnected, reconnect the integration and make sure you complete the G2 approval process successfully.

Verify the connection

The G2 card should show as connected. Test with a workflow that reads product metadata or a small buyer-intent query.

If the API rejects the request, confirm that the token has access to the requested G2 product and API data set.

Disconnecting or reconnecting G2

Disconnect in these cases:

  • Before rotating the G2 API token

  • Changing which G2 account owns the data access

Reconnect with the new token.
