Connect Smartlead so Breakout can read campaigns, manage leads, use mailboxes, and enroll approved contacts into active Smartlead campaigns.
Prerequisites
Create or choose a Smartlead API key with access to the campaigns and email accounts your workflows will use.
Confirm that the target campaigns are active in Smartlead. Some workflows only enroll into active campaigns and will reject paused or missing campaigns.
Permissions requested
Smartlead does not use OAuth scopes for this connection. The API key must have access to the Smartlead workspace resources your workflows need, such as:
Campaign listing and campaign reads.
Lead creation, update, and enrollment
Sender account and mailbox inspection
Analytics reads
Webhook reads or management (if webhook workflows are enabled)
Allowing Breakout to access Smartlead
Click your name to navigate to Settings
Click Integrations and then toggle the switch on in the Smartlead card.
Click your name to navigate to Settings
Click Integrations and then toggle the switch on in the Smartlead card.
Paste the Smartlead API key into the secure form.
Important: Do not paste extra spaces before or after the API key.
Submit the form.
Return to Breakout and wait for the Smartlead integration to show as Connected. It may take a few minutes for the status to update on the Integrations page.
If the Smartlead approval window closes but the integration still doesn't show as connected, refresh the Integrations page.
If Smartlead still appears as Disconnected, reconnect the integration and make sure you complete the Smartlead approval process successfully.
Verify the connection
The Smartlead card should show as connected. Test with a workflow that reads campaigns or lists email accounts before enrolling real leads.
If campaign operations fail, confirm that the API key can access the campaign and sending accounts in Smartlead.
Disconnect or reconnect
Disconnect before:
Rotating the Smartlead API ke
Changing the Smartlead workspace used by Breakout
Reconnect with the new API key.
