Setting up notifications (macOS)

Instructions to set up notifications for Breakout to ensure that Breakout notifications appear on your screen and stay visible

For Google Chrome

Allow the website to notify you

To allow notifications for a specific URL on Chrome for Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Chrome Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Notifications

  2. Add the URL to the "Allowed to send notifications" list

Alternatively, click the Lock icon πŸ”’ next to the Breakout URL (https://dashboard.getbreakout.ai) in the address bar and enable Notifications

For macOS

Enable Google Chrome banners on macOS

To enable Google Chrome Banners on macOS, follow these steps:

  1. Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu > Settings.

    Select Privacy and security > Site settings

  2. Scroll down to Pop-ups and redirects and select Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects.


    Alternatively, when a pop-up is blocked, click the "Pop-up blocked" icon in the address bar to Always allow

Turn off "Do Not Disturb" on the Windows OS

If you see the moon icon in your taskbar, macOS is blocking all alerts and Do Not Disturb is turned on. To turn off Do Not Disturb, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Control Center icon (top-right corner)

  2. Click the highlighted "Focus" or Moon icon to turn off Do Not Disturn

Alternatively, hold Option and click the time/date in the menu bar, or go to System Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb and toggle it off.

Tip: If you use "Focus" modes, add Google Chrome to your "Allowed Apps" in your Focus Settings.
